CSEI collaborated in the design of a new lab and meeting space for University of Florida Integrated Product & Process Design. Existing dual duct mixing boxes were replaced with new equipment and digital controls to provide zoning and precise space temperature control. The existing fire protection system was modified and provided with new sprinklers to ensure adequate coverage and improve system reliability. Sanitary, vent, and cold water piping was extended from the existing building piping to accommodate a new 3D printer clean station and a new lab sink with an emergency eyewash. A new point-of-use water heater was provided for the new lab sink to deliver instantaneous hot water. New LED lighting systems were implemented throughout the area, providing enhanced controllability and energy efficiency. New receptacles, wireless access points, and data connections were installed for new workstations, TVs, at specific equipment locations, and throughout the lab to future usage flexibility.
