Provided in-kind replacement of seven existing Strobic-style exhaust fans, with new fans will maintaining existing controls sequencing for control of airflow in critical BSL-3 areas. Three fans serve the general room exhaust within the BSL-3 areas on the third and fourth floors while another pair serve the Biological Safety Cabinets on the two floors within the BSL-3 suite. Two additional fans serve the greenhouse spaces adjacent to the building. New fans have been placed at the existing locations and will continue utilizing the existing bubble-tight isolation dampers. All existing ductwork, air valves, controls, etc remained the same. Pre and final Test and Balance was provided to match all existing airflows. New fans were integrated to the existing BAS for start/stop/status, including new isolation dampers. Control board upgrades were made for the existing BSL3 lab Phoenix valves from legacy technology to new BACnet MSTP protocols. New VFDs were provided to replace the existing. The electrical design provided modifications to the existing power system to supply the new fans from the existing emergency power circuits serving the existing fans to be replaced.
