UF CSE innovation academy renovtion
gainesville, Florida
CSEI provided professional engineering services for the design of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for UF’s Computer Science Engineering (CSE) Building Innovation Academy renovation located on the third floor. Supply and return duct grilles/diffusers were reconfigured to properly balance the existing airflows to meet the new loads of the renovated spaces. New general exhaust system/ductwork and snorkels were designed to support the 10 new 3D printer stations that were added. On the electrical side modifications to the existing power, data and fire alarm systems were made as required by new user equipment and furniture needs. New LED lighting systems with controls were provided in spaces where the ceiling was replaced. The plumbing design required the extension of existing domestic and sanitary/vent piping systems to serve new fixtures in the break room. Additionally, fire protection sprinkler heads were replaced and relocated to maintain NFPA 13 compliance.
