UF Astraeus Space institute renovation

gainesville, Florida

CSEI worked as a consultant to a UF Minor Continuing Services Contract architect to provide Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Protection engineering services for a 4,300 sq ft renovation of the 1st floor of the Computer Sciences and Engineering Building at UF. The Astraeus Space Institute supports groundbreaking research and collaboration through its state of the art facilities and technology. The extent of the HVAC work included new ductwork (supply and return) with new VAV's, HHW piping and controls within the renovated area to meet all new loads. The electrical design was characterized by modifications of the existing power, data, and fire alarm systems to facilitate the architectural remodel and user equipment/technology needs. New LED lighting systems and controls were added. Additionally, fire protection sprinkler heads were replaced and relocated to maintain NFPA-13 compliance.
