Thermo Fisher (TF1)
gAINESVILLE, florida
This project encompassed the renovation of three floors of the Thermo-Fisher Administration Building. Existing ductwork and controls were reused where possible, including the Variable Air Volume (VAV) units. New supply grilles were added and balanced for proper conditioning. Some VAVs were relocated based on capacity needs due to architectural changes. New VAVs were connected to a new building automation system. Existing exhaust systems were retained and rebalanced to ensure proper conditioning and pressurization. Restroom fixtures were updated or supplemented as needed and connected to the existing plumbing. The fire protection system was modified to comply with NFPA 13 standards, relocating or adding heads as necessary. General power, data, and fire alarm systems were reconfigured to match the new layout. The existing power infrastructure remained in good condition and was reused. All lighting was upgraded to new LED fixtures with digital controls, and new life safety loads, including fire alarms and egress lighting, were connected to a new diesel generator system.
