Budget Inn renovations

gainesville, Florida

CSEI provided professional engineering services for the design of the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for the renovation of the Budget Inn to serve as housing for Alachua County’s homeless. This project included 17,000 sq ft of renovations to extremely aged existing buildings and created a new 1,400 sq ft community building. New PTAC HVAC and General exhaust systems were added to all residential areas of the renovation to comply with FBC-EC. Electrical upgrades were made to achieve Code compliance and provide proper capacity to all buildings as well as new LED lighting through all areas. Site lighting design was prepared with photometric calculations for permitting. Existing plumbing fixtures were replaced and relocated on all existing buildings and added to the new community building. Performance criteria for a new site-wide fire protection system per NFPA-13R/NFPA 13 was designed.
