The Problem:
Antiquated systems and lack of humidity control for instruments necessitated a complete replacement of HVAC, lighting, and power systems for this fully-occupied building with funding to be spent within 9 months from notice-to-proceed.
Working with the CM, CSEI prioritized the design of long-lead equipment, demolition, and a Phase 1 so all could be permitted and begun while the design was being completed.
Our Solution:
Many firms see project scope, building occupancy needs, and schedule as competing constraints. We stepped back and worked with the team to find synergies. The phasing plan we developed significantly limited the number of users displaced and allowed the time to provide a thoroughly coordinated and efficient system design without having to rush.
