City of Gainesville Fire Station

Gainesville, Florida

The Problem:

This recently constructed storage building adjacent to the new Fire Station #1 was housing personnel equipment, but high humidity levels were leading to mildew and increased manhours spent cleaning/disinfecting this gear.

Our Solution:

With budget as a primary driver, CSEI did not want to “overdesign” the systems for this space, especially knowing that the building was not intended to be occupied for extended periods of time.

The CSEI DIfference:

Seeking the optimal system design for our Clients does not mean providing the most complex or expensive. In this case, the most cost-effective way to meet the very simple need of the Users was wall-hung Bard units that could stabilize the temperature (and thus the humidity level) in the space within a very wide allowable range. Given no real need for anything more complicated, we kept it simple.
