Alachua County Public Defender’s Office

CSEI provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services for a new construction, two-story, 20,000 sq. ft. building for the Alachua County Public Defender’s Office.

The specific extent of the scope included a new air-cooled chiller plant, anatural gas boiler heating plant. These plants served two new chilled water/hot watervariable air volume air handling units which heat, cool, and ventilate all areas of the building. All HVAC systems were integrated with the County’s existing Building Automation System for control, monitoring, and energy optimization.

Electrically, complete power, lighting, data/communications, and fire alarm systems were provided including energy efficient lighting controls and coordination of electronic card access security systems.

New sanitary waste/vent, rain water, and domestic water systems were designed for all new plumbing fixtures. Lastly, a comlete fire protection system was provided to serve all areas.

Involved with all aspects of the project while overseeing each phase of its development, CSEI was responsible for the complete design, assistance during bidding, and construction administration. They provided design coordination, made regular field visits, reviewed shop drawings, and conducted closeout coordination.
